P.S. I Love You
By Becky Vasquez
Who’s in it: Hilary Swank, Gerard Butler, Gina Gershon, Kathy Bates, Lisa Kudrow, Harry Connick Jr.
The Basics: Based on the novel by Cecelia Ahern, this movie follows the story of Holly (Hilary Swank) as she deals with the tragic loss of her beloved husband Gerry (Gerard Butler) who died of a brain tumor. Share in her emotions as she grieves and watch as Gerry helps her learn to live and love again through messages he wrote to her while he was still alive.
What’s the deal: Girls, this is a must see movie. You won’t regret it. But don’t forget your tissues because it is definitely a tear jerker. This is the quintessential chick flick, perfect for all of those girl’s nights in. Get ready to laugh and sob hysterically because this movie takes you from one emotion to the next, softening the sadness with laughter. It’s a wonderful romantic comedy.
Who provides the laughs: Lisa Kudrow as Holly’s friend Denise never fails to bring laughter into the moment. She is absolutely hilarious.
Anything else: Guys, this probably isn’t the movie for you. It has a tendency to get a little sappy at times, and you’d probably not enjoy it very much. It is definitely geared toward a female audience.
